This happened a while ago, but I finally found time to post about it now.

As some of you may or may not know, I am the administrator of shokudan. Both the community and the website. We've got a pretty decent staff, and I love them to bits. It's so nice to have translators turn in work on time. That makes me so happy! When they turn in work on time, I really don't mind having to time and encode and occasionally edit.

Well, nil_nova just happened to be waltzing around the internet. She and I go way back to a few years ago. We met through some kid named Eric in some... other state. It's been so long I've forgotten which state. At any rate, she just happened to be a big fan of Kyou Kara Maou, of which I'm a big fan of, too. In fact, we were both in the kyou_kara_maou community.

Believe it or not, nil_nova came onto AIM and chatted with me, asking if she could be an editor for Kyou Kara Maou. She even brought a translator friend of hers along! So we put out a few episodes, and eventually begin to reminisce about meeting all those years ago. I say that I'm a high school senior and that I'll be going to BGSU next year.

Funnily enough, nil_nova said that she lived in Bowling Green. I thought that was pretty cool, and then she told me she was already enrolled in BGSU. Well, that was even cooler! I'd be going to the same college as one of my staff members! We could roam off to each other's dorms and play games and hug and do lots of neat stuff.

So I told her that a few days ago, my friend Rebecca (my roommate, also already enrolled there) sent me a text message saying that we already had a room. I didn't understand what "232" or whatever meant, so good old Nil showed me how to check where my dorm was.

So I did. It ended up being Harshman-Dunbar, an Honors dorm. I only ended up in there because Rebecca is an Honors Student. Strangely enough, that ended up being Nil's dorm. Even stranger, we were on the same floor. Four... doors apart. Now how cool is that?

I'm excited about it still even after all the weeks that have passed. <3

Yeah, I'm not photoshop whiz. Nor do I excel in graphics or art or anything related to the topic. However, I did try my best to create suitable icons people could use. Credit is absolutely not necessary. I hope to see someone using one of the icons someday!

I've had this journal for three years now. There were other entries in here, but they were all rather boring and generally "blah". As such, I'm going to start anew with a blank journal, and this shall be my "first" post!

Generally, I run a website. I've had it for almost two years, and I'm so happy that it's constantly flourishing and growing. I really enjoy being able to bring people together and to provide those people with something they want! In a nutshell, Shoku-dan is a fansubbing/scanlating community. I'm proud to say that I can do any job except for translating. I'm a minor translator, and I'm really bad with languages. But I'll be heading to college next year, so I can take Japanese (and Psychology!) classes.

So yeah, I've got a staff, but I don't like to call them "my" staff. That makes it sound like I own people or something. Besides, I'm a part of the aforementioned staff. So, Shoku-dan's staff is really amazing. I'm really close to the majority of my staff members, and we're really one big happy family!

Anyhoo, I made a shokudan  community. Although it's supposed to be run by me, (as the de jure leader of Shoku-dan, I suppose), silver_vixi  is doing a wonderful job helping out. She's even scanned one of her artbooks and has provided us with very lovely scans indeed. She's even bought the limited edition of Loveless Volume 08 for Shoku-dan use, and is going to scan more of her artbooks at a later date. And to think, she originally joined the staff as a colorer. Now she's virtually a co-admin. -hugs her- I love you, Vixi! You're my "happi" to my happiness. That made no sense.

Well, that's my "first" post. I know I could've used a LiveJournal cut, but I decided not to. Besides, it's MY journal. I can do whatever I want. -waves flags- Go Shoku-dan! You rock, man!
